Interaction design for phones, tablets, and smart TVs. · Interaction strategy, concepts, and prototypes

Two experiments in what the TV screen could be: a personal home screen and a shoppable one.

Samsung First Screens

The challenge: Samsung wanted to rethink the first screen people see on its phones, tablets, and smart TVs, for people who live across devices and multitask constantly.

What I did: Ran discovery on how people move between channels and what they do while using each device. Developed a quadrant-based home screen concept: for example, Karen taps and holds the music quadrant to get curated suggestions and picks a new album. Designed it across phone, tablet, and TV, then made a motion prototype to show how it feels in use.

LG Smart TV Commerce

The challenge: LG wanted shopping to work on a smart TV: browsing and buying from the couch with a remote, without it feeling like a website stretched onto a television.

What I did: Defined the commerce use cases and application map, wireframed the browse-to-buy flow, designed the screens (shown here with a Reebok store), and built a motion prototype of the experience.
